How to get at VU Amsterdam

From/to Schiphol Airport:

Take the train (less than 5 Euros, at least four times per hour, one stop – takes 7 mins, faster than taxi) to/from the Amsterdam Zuid (=South) metro/tram/train station. VU is 10 minutes walk south of this station, or one stop with metro line 51 (direction Amstelveen, stop Boelelaan VU).

Local travel in Amsterdam:

Tram lines 16, 24 and 5 all stop in front of VU, as does metro line 51. Metro line 51 goes from VU to Amsterdam Zuid station, RAI station, and further to Central Station (about 20 mins). Tram line 5 goes from VU to the centre of the city (20 mins, e.g. the famous Museum Square, where you have the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum and the Concertgebouw).

A convenient and cheap way to travel around in Amsterdam is to buy a (multi-)day public transport ticket; it is valid for all metros, trams and buses in Amsterdam. You can choose between a 1 to 7-Day Public Transport Ticket: 1-Day EUR 7.50, 2-Days EUR 12.50, 3-Days EUR 17.50, 4-Days EUR 22.50, 5-Days EUR 27.50 per person.
